About Us
Bimes pro, private limited liability company, registered in Ljubljana, Slovenia, was established by Mr. Mensud Čović in 2010 and started operation in 2011 by entering into fiber optic business.
Mr. Čović worked as consultant in different positions in Optacore d.o.o., Slovenian optical fiber and preform production equipment and technology suppliers since 2006, starting as pre-graduate student and reaching position of Head of Equipment Production Department by 2015.
After a brief spell in automotive industry, Bimes pro returned to fiber optic business in 2017, offering equipment assembly and commissioning services to local equipment suppliers.
From 2017, Bimes pro has grown and became one of the key MCVD equipment and preform fabrication technology suppliers globally (see reference list).
Today, Bimes pro operates from a modern, well-equipped production facility with more than 1000 m2 of space in Logatec, Slovenia. Production premises include a clean room for piping and gas panel assembly, specialized leak testing equipment, workshops and offices for highly trained and specialized personnel, as well as a small laboratory, where new ideas and solutions can be tested and optimized.
Bimes pro uses high quality parts and subsystems, with controlled origin, in construction of optical fiber preform fabrication equipment, as well as excellent local and international subcontractors for part machining. In cooperation with Blubit d.o.o., a software, automation and robot application development company from Ljubljana, Slovenia, Bimes pro supplies advanced machine control systems for all processes in production of optical fibers. Key personnel
Mr. Mensud Čović worked in different positions in Optacore d.o.o., Slovenian fabrication equipment and technology suppliers since 2006, starting as pre-graduate student, and reaching position of Head of Equipment Production Department by 2015. After a short spell in automotive industry (CVD for headlamp fabrication), he returned to fiber optic business in 2017 and has since established a site for fabrication of MCVD and ancillary equipment production. He has been instrumental in upgrading design of special MCVD preform making equipment for improved and optimized process in fabrication of special and laser optical fibers. He is currently responsible for Bimes pro operation as CEO, but also covers financial and general operation activities.
Mr. Jure Škorja has started his career in Optacore, Slovenia in 2010, as mechanical design engineer and chief technologist, later he joined a major Slovenian gas system supplier in the food processing and pharmaceutical industry. He returned to Bimes pro as full-time project manager and chief mechanical design officer in 2022. His experience in gas panel design, mechanical and mechatronic system, as well as his project manager skills, are essential contributions to successful Bimes pro operation and customer satisfaction.
